Portfolio - Cosplay
A selection of things I've made, either from my own mind or as a commissioned order for a customer.
Pinkie Pie (My Little Pony) is SUCH a joy to Cosplay! I made my own Retro 70's version of her. This was my first attempt at wig styling. I'm happy with the "mane" effect I got from the banana clip, and the forelock is on point. I glued some candy clutter to some big round sunglasses. A cheap necklace I modified and a custom-made balloon gem became her Element of Harmony necklace. I glued the ribbons to the inside rim of the Party Cannon (Airzooka) so I wouldn't make a mess at conventions.
In the early 2010's when steampunk blew up, I thought it would be cool to make a peacock out of clock parts- specifically the tail being a fan of clock hands. I used super glue, manicure acrylic, and UV resin to hold all the pieces together. I also added seed beads and rhinestones to catch the light from the LED inside the chest of the peacock. I liked it so much I decided to start making a whole costume out of this theme. I attached the peacock sculpture to a black fascinator.
More steampunk/peacock inspired pieces. I really love the fascinator but it isn't practical for everyday wear, so I made a decoration for one of my fedoras. Its made of clock springs, clock hands, watch hands, and a feather. The writing quill is a ballpoint pen refill to which I attached some calligraphy nibs and some glass vials filled with watered-down paint. A ring blank stabilizes it on the finger while you write- yes, it does actually write!
More steampunk/peacock inspired cosplay pieces. I attached a spirit level, some springs, and a spiral pendulum head to a replica flintlock lighter to make a raygun. The lighter still sparks but there's no lighter fluid in it so it won't actually light. Peel-and-stick leather pen holders hold spirit level "reloads" on the holster.
